Coca-Cola, the iconic soft drink loved by millions around the world, has an interesting and colorful history. In this blog, we’ll take a journey through time to uncover the story of how Coca-Cola was invented, marketed, and became one of the most successful brands in the world.

The story begins in 1886, when a pharmacist named John Pemberton created a medicinal tonic made of coca leaves and kola nuts, which he mixed with carbonated water. Pemberton named the drink Coca-Cola and began selling it as a soda fountain drink, advertising it as a “brain tonic” and a cure for headaches and other ailments.

Coca-Cola quickly became popular in Atlanta, and Pemberton soon sold the formula to businessman Asa Candler, who recognized the potential of the product and began aggressively marketing it. Candler bought out Pemberton’s remaining interest in the company in 1891 and spent the next several years building Coca-Cola into a national brand.
