In genetic diseases, precision medicine can identify the specific genetic defect causing the disease and develop treatments that target that defect. In infectious diseases, precision medicine can identify the specific strain of the pathogen causing the disease and develop treatments that are effective against that strain.

All of Us Research Program (previously known as the Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program): 

The All of US program is a large-scale Precision Medicine initiative launched by the US government in 2015. Its goal is to gather data from at least 1 million people to improve our understanding of how individual differences in genes, environment, and lifestyle can affect health and disease. The program collects a wide range of data, including genetic information, electronic health records, and lifestyle information.
